Postpartum Repairs & Physical Therapy

There is a wide range in postpartum healing. If someone gives birth by C-section, or has a 3rd, or 4th degree tear healing can take many weeks or months.

Some people like to see a pelvic floor PT before they give birth, others only after, and some people just have a wait and see approach. This is not a resource that is often spoken about in clinic spaces, and doctors and midwives can claim that the aches and pains of pregnancy or postpartum are normal. Ask a PT and they will say that that is not true, and that there is A LOT someone can do to stay fully active and pain free in pregnancy, and resume health in the postpartum period.
